Prambanan

Prambanan is the ninth century Hindu temple compound in Central Java, Indonesia, dedicated to Trimurti, the expression of God as the Creator (Brahma), the Sustainer (Vishnu) and the Destroyer (Shiva). The temple compound located approximately 18 km east of Yogyakarta cityon the boundary between Yogyakarta and Central Java province.

The temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, currently is the largest Hindu temple in Indonesia, and is one of the largest Hindu temples in south-east Asia. It is characterised by its tall and pointed architecture, typical of Hindu temple architecture, and by the towering 47m high central building inside a large complex of individual temples.

Contemporary Events

In the early 1990s the government removed the market that had sprung up near the temple and transformed the surrounding villages and rice paddies into an archaeological park. The park covers a large area, from Yogyakarta-Solo main road in the south, encompassing the whole Prambanan complex, the ruins of Lumbung and Bubrah temples, and as far as the Sewu temple compound in the north. In 1992 the Indonesian government created a State-owned Limited Liability Enterprise (PERSERO) of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, dan Ratu Boko. This enterprise is the authority for the park management of Borobudur Prambanan Ratu Boko and the surrounding region.

The open-air and indoor stages on the west side of the temple right across the Opak river, were built to stage the Ramayana ballet. This traditional Javanese dance is the centuries old dance of the Javanese court, performed every full moon night in the Prambanan temple since the 1960s. Since then, Prambanan has become one of the major archaeological and cultural tourism attractions in Indonesia.

After the reconstruction of the main temples in 1990s, Prambanan once again reclaim its status as an important religious center for Hindurituals and ceremonies in Java. The religious significance revival of Prambanan was due to Balinese and Javanese Hindu communities in Yogyakarta and Central Java that annually perform their sacred ceremonies in Prambanan, such as Galungan, Tawur Kesanga, and Nyepi.

Traffic System in United Kingdom

Traffic on roads may consist of pedestrians, ridden or herded animals, vehicles, streetcars and other conveyances, either singly or together, while using the public way for purposes of travel.
Traffic is formally organized in many jurisdictions, with marked lanes, junctions, intersections, interchanges, traffic signals, or signs. Traffic is often classified by type: heavy motor vehicle examples : car, truck; other vehicle examples : moped, bicycle; and pedestrian. Different classes may share speed limits and easement, or may be segregated. Some jurisdictions may have very detailed and complex rules of the road while others rely more on drivers' common sense and willingness to cooperate.

These are traffic system in UK works :
Road Authorities are faced with many challenges regarding the road network and the safety of road users.
- Reflective Road Studs and Markings : are for all types of permanent and temporary applications. They are designed to guide drivers clearly at night as well as in daytime.
- School Zones : can be some of the most hazardous areas on the roads to help raise drivers’ awareness of their speed and the potential dangers that lay ahead.
- Sign Maintenance : as well as post installation support for our products to give you peace of mind on your investment.
Reflective Material : Retro reflection occurs when surfaces return a portion of the directed light to its source. This is why retro reflective materials appear brightest to observers located near the light source – a driver and the vehicle headlights, for example. This is true for drivers at almost any viewing angle, which makes retro reflective surfaces excellent for visibility.
Emergency service : vehicles are some of the most high profile and vulnerable road users, meaning they should demand the best conspicuity markings for their vehicles.
- Diamond Grade : a super-high efficiency, full cube, retro reflective sheeting designed for the production of durable vehicle conspicuity. Our assured seal gives the edge of the sheeting a barrier against the everyday substances emergency service vehicles come into contact with such as water, oil, dust and dirt. Together, DG³ with assured seal provides the best performing and longest lasting solution for marking emergency vehicles.
Vehicle Safety Markings : establishes guidelines for the use of retro-reflective safety markings on heavy goods vehicles and trailers operating on our roads.

Question :
1.Why the other name of flag of U.K is Union Jack?
2.Why where the crosses named St. George, St. Patrick and St. Andrew?
Are those the name of important figures?
3.Why it was only Northern Ireland that joins England? In other word why Southern
Ireland didn’t join?

Answer :
1.The Union Jack, the official flag of Britain since 1801, is really three separate flags in one, for it combines the English Cross of St.George, the Scottish cross of St Andrew and the Irish cross of St Patrick, England, Scotland and Ireland were originally Independent countries, and the Union Jack symbolizes the fact that they now from the United Kingdom, another name for Britain. Although generally known as the Union Jack, this is incorrect because it is the term for a flag flown only from the jack staff in the bows of a ship to indicate it is a man-of-war. Through popular use, however, the Union Jack gas become the accepted name for the flag.

2.St. George(England)

A story dating back to the 6th century tells that St George rescued a maiden by slaying a fearsome fire-breathing dragon. The Saint’s name was shouted as a battle cry by English knights who fought beneath the red-cross banner of St George during the Hundred Years War (1338-1453).

The national emblem and national flower of England is a red rose

The flower has been adopted as England’s emblem since the time of the Wars of the Roses – civil wars (1455-1485) between the royal house of Lancaster (whose emblem was a red rose) and the royal house of York (whose emblem was a white rose).

St.Andrew(Scotland)

St. Andrew was one of Christ’s twelve apostles. Some of his bones are said to have been brought to what is now St. Andrews in Fife during the 4th century. Since medieval times the X-shaped saltire cross upon which St. Andrew was supposedly crucified has been the Scottish national symbol.

The national emblem and national flower of Scotland is the thistle, a prickly-leaved purple flower which was first used in the 15th century as a symbol of defence.

The Scottish Bluebell is also seen as the flower of Scotland.

St.Patrick(Northern Ireland)

Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland. He was born in Wales somewhere around AD 385. He was carried off by pirates and spent six years in slavery before escaping and training as a missionary.

The most famous story about Saint Patrick is him driving the snakes from Ireland. He died on 17th March in AD 461 and this day has since been commemorated as St. Patrick’s Day.

The national emblem of Ireland is the Shamrock. Patrick used the three-leaved shamrock to explain how the Trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit could exist as separate parts of the same being. His followers took to wearing a shamrock in celebration.

St Patrick’s day is marked by the wearing of shamrocks (a clover-like plant), the national emblem of both Northern Ireland.

source : http://ixral.wordpress.com/2010/02/22/why-were-the-cross-name-st-georgeandrewpatrick-are-those-the-names-of-important-people-or-figures/

3.This is a very difficult question to answer because it assumes that it is an easy thing to do. This is because the history of the conflict in the area known as Northern Ireland is over 400 years old. The basic story is that the English held power in Ireland. Ireland was a Catholic country, so to show their power and to help their cause, the English moved Scottish Protestants into the part known as Northern Ireland. Over the years, their decedents have made the area their home and don't think it’s fair that they should have to let the Catholics take control of the area because they have the rest of Ireland to live in. So that is the basic reason that you cannot have a united Ireland.
This is a very sensitive subject and what you read above is very simplified, however, it should give a person with no knowledge grounding as to why there is a conflict there.

Contonya : Siska mempunyai seorang pacar bernama adit.
